Search “SEO company in Delhi” and you’ll get a page full of agencies calling themselves the top SEO company in Delhi, the most trusted, or award-winning. Most of them will send you a proposal within a day. Many of those proposals will look almost identical: a list of 30 or 50 keywords, a promise of “high-quality backlinks,” and monthly fees that can differ by three or four times for what sounds like the same work.
The trouble is that two proposals with the same keyword count can describe completely different jobs. One agency is fixing your site, writing pages people search for and building your Google Business Profile. The other is buying directory links and sending you a ranking screenshot for terms nobody types.
This guide gives you the SEO-specific questions that separate the two, before you sign anything.
TL;DR
- Choose an SEO company in Delhi by what it will actually do each month (pages fixed, content written, links earned) and how it will prove it, not by keyword count or a “page 1” promise.
- Google itself says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking (Google Search Central, updated June 2026). Treat any guarantee as a reason to walk away.
- Ask for work you can verify, where the keywords came from, who writes the content, how links are earned, and how they’re handling Google’s AI Overviews.
- Make sure you stay the owner of your Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile, with the agency added as a user.
- There’s no standard SEO price in Delhi. Ask each agency to split its quote into keywords, technical work, content, links and reporting, then compare line by line.
What Should an SEO Company in Delhi Actually Do for You?
A good SEO company should find the searches your customers actually make, fix what stops your site and Google Business Profile from showing up for them, and then build content and links that earn those rankings over time. It should also report on enquiries and traffic from those searches, not just positions for a list of keywords.

In practice, that usually breaks into five pieces of work:
- Keyword and competitor research tied to what you sell and where you sell it.
- Technical fixes: indexing, page speed, mobile layout, broken pages, schema.
- On-page work: titles, headings, service pages and location pages rewritten around real searches.
- Content and links: new pages or articles, plus links from sites that are relevant to your business.
- Local SEO: Google Business Profile, reviews and consistent listings.
Don’t let a proposal skip item 5. When we checked Google’s results for “seo company in delhi” in September 2026, three Maps listings sat above every regular result. Search a few of the terms your own customers use and see whether the same thing happens for your business.
If a proposal is heavy on item 4 and silent on items 2, 3 and 5, you’re looking at a link vendor, not an SEO company. For a broader look at what moves rankings for a local business, see our guide to SEO services in Delhi NCR.
Which Questions Should You Ask Before Hiring an SEO Agency in Delhi?
Ask questions that force a specific answer about past work, keywords, content, links, access and reporting. Vague answers to any of the nine below tell you more than a polished pitch deck will.

We’ve already covered general agency questions (pricing tiers, contract exits, a named contact) in how to choose a digital marketing agency in Delhi. These are the SEO-specific ones.
1. “Can you show me work you’ve done for a business like mine?”
Google’s own hiring guidance puts this near the top: ask for examples of previous work and success stories. Look for results you can check yourself, like a client site you can actually find in search, rather than a traffic graph with the name cropped out. If an agency is new and doesn’t have case studies yet, ask it to prove the work in a smaller way first, such as a detailed audit of your own site.
2. “Where did these keywords come from, and how many people search them?”
A keyword list without search volumes is guesswork. Ask to see the monthly searches for each term, and push back on anything too long and specific to be searched (“best dental clinic in lajpat nagar near metro station”). Ranking #1 for a phrase with zero searches is easy, and worthless.
3. “What will your first-month audit look at?”
You want to hear about indexing (which pages Google has and hasn’t picked up), speed and mobile issues, duplicate or thin pages, and your Google Business Profile. If the audit is a 40-page PDF exported from a tool with no priorities marked, ask which three fixes they’d do first and why.
4. “Who writes the content, and who checks it?”
Some agencies write in-house, some use freelancers, some publish AI drafts nobody has edited. Any of these can be fine if someone who understands your business reviews it. Ask for two sample articles they’ve written for a business like yours, and read them as a customer would.
5. “How exactly do you build links?”
This is the question that catches the most people out. Google’s spam policies define link spam as creating links “primarily for the purpose of manipulating search rankings”, including paying for links, excessive link swaps and automated link programs (Google Search Central, updated August 2026). A promise of “100 backlinks a month” almost always means low-quality directories or paid placements. Good answers sound like local press, industry associations, supplier and partner pages, and content other sites genuinely want to reference.
6. “Will I own my Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile?”
You should be the owner of all three, with the agency added as a user. In Search Console, owners can add and remove users, change settings and use every tool (Google Search Console Help). If the agency sets up these accounts under its own login, leaving later can mean losing your own data.
7. “Will you tell me every change you make to my site?”
Google’s hiring advice says that if an SEO has access to your server, they should be willing to explain all the changes they are making. The same page adds that you’re ultimately responsible for the actions of any company you hire. A simple change log each month is a fair thing to ask for.
8. “How are you handling Google’s AI Overviews?”
Google now shows AI-generated summaries above the regular results for many questions. When we searched “how to choose seo company” in September 2026, an AI Overview was the first thing on the page. Google’s hiring guidance lists help with generative AI optimization among the things an SEO can do. A good answer talks about clear pages that answer real questions and consistent business details across the web, not a separate “AI SEO” package bolted on. Our post on AEO vs SEO vs GEO explains how the three fit together.
9. “What will your report show, apart from rankings?”
Rankings move around daily and differ by location, so a screenshot proves little. A useful monthly report shows clicks and impressions from Search Console, calls and direction requests from Google Business Profile, enquiry form fills, and what’s planned for next month.
What Are the Red Flags When Choosing an SEO Company?
The biggest red flags are ranking guarantees, secret methods, link packages sold by the hundred, and agencies that won’t give you ownership of your own accounts. Any one of these is reason enough to keep looking.

- “Guaranteed page 1 in 90 days.” Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. A guarantee usually means they’ve picked easy, unsearched keywords.
- “We have a special relationship with Google.” Nobody does. Google’s hiring guidance calls this out directly.
- Secret sauce. If they can’t explain what they’ll do in plain language, you can’t check whether they did it.
- Results in the first two weeks. According to Google’s SEO Starter Guide (updated December 2025), some changes take effect in hours and others can take several months. Quick jumps are more often a sign of short-term tactics than real progress.
- Very cheap, very broad. A ₹5,000 package covering 50 keywords, content, links and technical SEO can’t include much real work on any of them.
How Much Does an SEO Company in Delhi Cost?
There’s no standard rate card for SEO in Delhi, so quotes for what sounds like the same service can differ several times over. The gap almost always comes down to scope: how much technical work, content and link building is included, and how much senior time goes into your account.

What actually changes the price:
- How many keywords and locations are targeted
- Whether content writing is included, and how many pieces
- Whether link building is included, and how
- The depth of technical work (a basic audit versus ongoing Core Web Vitals and schema work)
- How often you get reports and who you talk to
Ask every agency to split its quote into those line items. A cheap quote and an expensive one can turn out to be for different jobs, not the same job at different prices.
“Affordable SEO services in Delhi” is a fine thing to look for. Just check what’s been removed to make the price affordable. Content priced per article on top of a retainer can add a lot to what you actually spend.
A Worked Example: Comparing Three SEO Quotes
Here’s an illustrative example, not a real client. Say you run a dental clinic in Lajpat Nagar and three SEO agencies in Delhi send quotes.

| Agency A | Agency B | Agency C | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | ₹9,000 | ₹22,000 | ₹48,000 |
| Keywords | 60 | 15 (with search volumes) | 40 |
| Content | None | 2 service or blog pages a month | 6 articles a month |
| Links | “150 backlinks a month” | Local listings plus outreach to 3 to 5 relevant sites a month | Guest posts, method not explained |
| Google Business Profile | Not mentioned | Included, with review requests | Not mentioned |
| Promise | “Page 1 in 90 days, guaranteed” | No guarantee; baseline in week 2, first local movement expected in 2 to 3 months | “Top 3 rankings” |
| Report | Rankings screenshot | Search Console clicks, GBP calls and bookings | Rankings and traffic |
Agency A is out on the guarantee and the link count alone. Agency C costs more than twice as much as B, but most of the extra money goes on articles, when a local clinic mostly needs strong service pages and a busy Google Business Profile. Its link method is also unexplained.
Agency B is the one to question further. It targets fewer keywords, but all of them get searched. It includes the Maps listing, which is where a “dentist near me” search shows local clinics first. And its report tracks calls and bookings, which is what you care about. Ask B for two sample pages and its link outreach list before you sign.
Should You Pick a Big Agency, a Small Agency or a Freelance SEO Expert in Delhi?
Pick whoever will give your site the most senior attention for your budget. A single SEO expert in Delhi can be excellent for a small site with a clear local focus. A small or mid-sized agency makes more sense when you need technical work, content and local SEO handled together.

Large agencies bring more people and tools, but a ₹15,000 account rarely gets their best people. Whichever you choose, ask one question directly: “Who will actually work on my site each week, and how many other clients do they handle?”
How Leyscale Approaches SEO
We’re a young Delhi agency based in Chittaranjan Park, so we’d rather show you how we work than tell you we’re the best SEO company in Delhi. Our SEO service runs in three cumulative tiers, from foundation work for newer sites up to continuous technical, content and link work for competitive categories.
A few things we do on every account, and that you should expect from anyone:
- No ranking guarantees. We commit to the agreed work, the keyword set and the reporting.
- Baselines recorded in week 2, so progress is measured against real starting numbers.
- Honest timelines. Local and long-tail keywords usually start moving in 6 to 10 weeks; competitive head terms take 4 to 6 months.
- You own your accounts. Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile stay in your name.
We don’t publish rupee prices, because scope varies, but the tier structure, bundle discounts and term discounts are all on our packages page.
FAQ
How do I choose the best SEO company in Delhi?
Compare what each company will do every month (technical fixes, content, links, local SEO) and how it will report results. Reject anyone guaranteeing rankings, and ask for verifiable past work, keyword search volumes and a clear explanation of how links are built.
How much do SEO services cost in Delhi?
There’s no standard price, and quotes for similar-sounding packages can differ several times over. Ask each agency to break its quote into keywords, technical work, content, links and reporting, so you’re comparing the same work.
How long does SEO take to show results?
Google says some changes take effect within hours and others can take several months. Local and long-tail keywords often move within two to three months, while competitive terms usually take four to six months or longer.
Can an SEO company guarantee first-page rankings on Google?
No. Google states that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, so a guarantee is a warning sign, not a selling point.
Should I give my SEO agency access to my Google accounts?
Yes, but as a user, not the owner. Keep ownership of Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Business Profile in your own name and add the agency with the access it needs.
